The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has left for Texas, United States of America.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser (Media), Dr Festus Adedayo, the Governor's visit to Texas is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Texas State University on a partnership with the Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the statement, while on April 17, 2013, the Governor will sign the MoU with the university, he will on the same day undertake a facility tour of Texas State University campus.
Texas State University, after which the university is patterned, teaches technical courses which would be the main preoccupation of the Technical University of Ibadan.
Governor Ajimobi, according to the statement, will, the next day, April 18th, be hosted by the Governor of Texas.
Texas State University, according to the Memorandum of Understanding entered into by the State Government, will facilitate a 2-year training of the students of Oyo State Technical University, Ibadan inTexas.
Governor Ajimobi, said in the statement will, the next day, April 18th, be at Houston for a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce, while the second day, April 19th, he will meet with the Secretary of State of Texas in Austin, the state capital.
Texas State University, according to an understanding entered into by the State Government, will facilitate a 2-year training of the students of Oyo State Technical University in Texas.
Among those on the Governor's entourage are the Chairman, Implementation Committee of the Technical University and former Head of Service of the Federation, Professor Oladapo Afolabi, the State Commissioners for Education and Finance, Mrs Tokunbo Fayokun and Zacheus Adelabu respectively, as well as two members of the State House of Assembly, including the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Mr. Segun Ajanaku.
The Governor is expected to return on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
