Super Eagles assistant coach declares that team remains focused Super Eagles assistant coach, Ike Shorunmu, believes that the international friendly game between Nigeria and Mexico slated for May 31 Houston, United States of America will boost the country's World Cup dream.

The former Grasshoppers FC of Switzerland goalkeeper who spoke to Complete Sports during the week said he is sure that the Super Eagles will have a lot of positives to take from the match which will be of immense help to them during the games against Kenya and Namibia as well as help prepare the team for the Confederations Cup in Brazil in June.

"We just have to commend the FA for arranging the match with Mexico because there is a whole lot to gain from it as it will go a long way in helping our players to prepare for the matches we have in June", Shorunmu pointed out.

"June is a loaded month for us and we need a game like that to prepare. The players will definitely know that a game of that magnitude will help them and they need to be serious about it so that whatever that is taken from it will help them to do well in games slated for June".

Shorunmu is also confident that Nigeria will not miss out from the 2014 FIFA World Cup party holding in Brazil.

"One thing I can tell you is that we are going to be at the 2014 World Cup, it was not possible for us to beat Kenya in our last game but we have learnt our lessons and ready for the coming games.
I just pray they'll beat Mexico.
