Job Description:
• Implement the corporate internal and external communication policies, strategy and guidance in order to disseminate, develop and maintain strong communication as approved by management and Act as Company's resource of communications' expertise and guidance.
• To support in providing local brand management, promotion, quality control and co-ordination for all departmental communications e.g. publications, promotional materials leaflets, posters, etc
• To organize local company internal events requiring wide publicity to motivate its employees or promote company's image and creating awareness in the operating environment e.g. Road projects, Community Development Projects, corporate staff briefings, etc.
• Facilitate the communication of key corporate messages to organization's employees.
• To effectively manage key communication channels including local publications, intranet/internet, Newsletters, Magazines etc
• Presenting and maintaining a positive public image of the organization which include proactively developing media outreach strategies, creating and implementing product or service announcements by working closely with related government department and agencies as the need arises.
• Proactively engage the cascading communication of the business strategy through all departments within the company.
• Liaise with key functions involved in developing and implementing the business strategy to prioritize the key messages to be communicated.
• Use existing communication channels and develop new channels to ensure penetration to all employees.
• Conduct a detailed follow-up of all business strategy communications to test feasibility, penetration and direction.
• Creating announcements to inform all employees about business developments.
• Supporting the UNICEM Intranet by providing content on all business developments.
• Liaising with external agencies to create a quarterly internal magazine. Includes soliciting articles and photos from across the company, researching and writing and editing articles and advising on design and layout for each publication.
• Support in the development and growth of an e-magazine from the area of business communications.
• Support the timely release of the business newsletter with regular business content.
• Ensure the successful implementation of the team briefing process as a tool enable the regular cascading of business communications.
• General support in regular communication vehicles such as anniversaries and major events
• Ensure the strategy is executed under the clear objectives of CSR with UNICEM and Lafarge/HOLCIM.
• Knowledge and engagement with CSR activities within the company.
• Assess the knowledge, engagement and feedback of employees to ensure it is aligned with the strategic plan.
• Actively involved in the Health and Safety drive of the Organization
Desired Skills & Experience:
Professional and/or technical competencies:
• Bachelor of Science/ Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism or Public Relations.
• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Age: Not less than 35 years of age.
Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years cognate practical working experience in Research, documentary and communication channels in a well structured Organization.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Blend of skills in marketing, corporate communications and journalism.
• Strong business acumen to interpret complex messages for large audiences.
• Experience of communicating strategies to support the managing of an organizational change.
• Broad understanding of internal media – ranging from Internet / intranet and phone based to audiovisual.
• Excellent command of the English language both written and oral.
• Agency management and briefing skills.
• Strong computer, excellent reporting skills and Superior professionalism and judgment
