Post by: Folami David on Apr 19, 2013, 11:04 AM
One-cap Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has resumed gym work after he underwent a minor surgery on his left knee last week in Lisbon,Complete Sports has been informed.
.
The Academica de Coimbra player who has chalked up 18 Primeira Liga games is expected to be out of action for two weeks. The formerAlmeria Drava NK midfielder told Complete Sports that he is on his road to recovery and will be fully fit for the Eagles' crowded fixtures in June and the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.
.
"It was so frustrating in many ways because it was not as serious as it was reported," he said.
.
He also took time to issue a stern warning to the Harambee Stars of Kenya that the Eagles would not cut corners to win all three points in Nairobi come June 5.
.
"I think we played well against them in Calabar and we still have a great chance of showing more of what we've got against them because they will also come out to attack unlike their approach in Calabar," he boasted.
.
"All we can do is take each game as it comes, play our best and try and win. We have learned from what has happened and the main aim will be to win the remaining games in the group," Ogu concluded.
.
Ogu made a cameo appearance in his debut game for the Super Eagles in last month's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya in Calabar and has been listed for the team's crowded fixtures in June.

I just pray he gets better soon. He is a player that would be needed in our midfield. Fingers crossed
