Job Title: EFSL Unconditional Cash Transfer Specialist
Organisation: Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment
An NGO based in the Niger Delta with diverse local and international funding sources requires the services of an EFSL Cash Transfer Specialist.
This position provides implementation support for Unconditional Cash transfer programmes for an anticipated project commencing soon.
General Function: Develop a plan/system to be used for the implementation of unconditional cash transfer progam, in target communities which would be a model for future emergency program in the region.
Specific Deliverables (key responsibilities):
• Conduct assessment and analysis of Cash needs; existing and potential financial institutions or traditional mechanisms for Cash transfer programme and identify innovative/ relevant /alternative payment systems/modalities in consideration with the security situation in target communities/locations;
• Contextualize cash transfer guidelines prepared by the organization on distribution processes and make necessary recommendation where appropriate;
• Plan and ensure effective and efficient EFSL/Cash transfer processes i.e. community meetings, mapping locations of the beneficiaries, appropriate modality, distance, time, costs of transport and the terrain of the areas/locations;
• Develop and distribute beneficiary cards/ID, prepare distribution and movement plan for teams and work with Finance and Admin Manager to forecast cash requirements etc;
• Carry out any other assignment given by the Senior Programs Manager and the management. Skills and Competence:
Qualifications:
• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Social work, Humanitarian studies, International development or any relevant field; a Masters degree will be an added advantage
• At least 5 to 10 years of professional experience working in development sector most especially in humanitarian response in an NGO or other relevant reputable institutions
• Professionally qualified cash transfer specialist, preferably with some experience in a large and / or complex organization;
• Experience and knowledge of (EFSL) cash programmes in emergencies;
• Sound knowledge and experience of computer applications including Microsoft word
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including high-level interpersonal and representational capabilities; fluency in written and spoken English essential. Working and knowledge of Niger Delta is an added advantage;
• A broad understanding of the work culture in the "development" sector and its impact on key areas of responsibility and a commitment to humanitarian principles and action;
• An understanding of gender and diversity considerations within key areas of responsibility and commitment to addressing them using humanitarian standards.
Contract duration: 6 months
SALARY: Competitive based on experience.
