Title: NGGT: Zamfara State Govt. takes on maintenance of 33KVA federal power lines in LGs

(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/DSC_00163-300x199.jpg)                        Members of the National Good Governance Tour has visited the Dan Marke Maru Electrification Project in Zamfara State just as the State Government says it has initiated the maintenance of Federal power lines in some Local Government Areas.

Briefing the Team at the Dan Marke Maru Electrification project site, Alh. D. Hassan Special Adviser to the Zamfara State Governor on Rural Electrification and Telecommunication said the contract was awarded in the year 2011 at the cost of 20,780,000 naira.

He said the project had been energised and inhabitants were now enjoying electricity adding that the source of electricity is hydro energy.

He also disclosed that the State Governor also took on the maintenance of some 33KVA Federal lines which include changing of all wooden high tension poles and wooden cross arms to steel cross arms across the State.

Some of the maintenance work carried out by the State Government, the Special Adviser added, include the 100 kilometers 33KVA line from Gusau to Dansadau and 100 kilometers 33KVA line from Anka to Gummi, and also 59 kilometers line from Gusau to Kaura Namoda among others.

Alhaji Hassan further informed that the State Government has also taken over the Federal Government electrification project of 33KVA line from T/Mafara to Anka, and that the project is in progress.

"In addition, the State Government has supplied 80 numbers of transformers with various capacities where there is high demand", he added.
