The monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Ogun State comes up tomorrow, Saturday, 27th April, 2013 between the hours of 7 and 10 in the morning.

In a statement today in Abeokuta, Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Lanre Tejuoso indicated that there would be no restriction of both human and vehicular movement during the three hour exercise to allow students writing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination do so without hindrance.

The Commissioner however enjoined residents and corporate bodies to use the period to clean their immediate environment, clear drainages and waterways to allow for free flow of water to prevent flooding, especially during this raining season.

Tejuoso also warned them against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, particularly on road medians, adding that anyone caught would be sanctioned appropriately.

The statement indicated that political appointees, members of the House of Assembly, Council Chairmen and Permanent Secretaries are to supervise the exercise in their respective Local Government Areas.
