As the explosion and attraction of the Federation Cup continues to gather momentum in various states with the Nigeria National League side, Kogi United squeezing past Tao United 3:1 on penalties after a 1:1 draw at regulation time in the underway

The Kogi State 2012 Federation Cup which commenced on 16th April, 2012 at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja with ten registered clubs are now down to four.
In the other results, the 2011 Kogi FA Cup champions and Nigeria Nationwide League side, Lokoja Football Club thrashed Igala United 2:1 to secure a plan in the semi-finals.
So also did Idah United blast past Okehi United 2:1 to pick a semi-final ticket while the defending champions, KABU fc clinically dismantled inexperience-solid Akpafar FC 2:0 to book their place in the semi-finals.
The 2012 Kogi State FA Cup tournament which is expected to feature 10 registered clubs in the contest for the coveted annually organised Challenge Cup.
According to the fixtures released the registered clubs are defending champions Kabba FC, NNWL side Lokoja FC, Idah United FC, NNL side Kogi United FC, Akparfa Rock FC and Igalamela FC, Okehi United FC, Tao United FC, Igala United FC.
However, the semi-final draws will witness an epic clash as 2011 champions Nigeria Nationwide League side Lokoja FC, tackling defending champions, Kabba while Nigeria National League side, Kogi United will hope to sweep aside unfancied-though-poisonous Idah United on 30th April and May 1st respectively.
