Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme aka Pawpaw insists that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) can be a whole lot better than it is presently.

Iheme who has interpreted roles in over a thousand Nollywood movies is surprised that there is no title sponsor for the NPFL blaming the situation on "the absence of a sound marketing structure" which will attract investors from the corporate industry.

"There is no involvement of corporate branding in our league. The organizers of the league should make it a business because it is a profitable venture.
.
"They must give investors a reason to invest (in the league). As it is, investors will not come in because the picture painted by the organizers is not very favourable. We need to re-strategize and make our league a brand," Iheme exclusively said.

Iheme then spoke about his affection for six-time NPFL champions, Enyimba but expressed unhappiness at the recent trophy drought experienced by the People's Elephant.

"I am sure a lot of my fans will be surprised that I am discussing football but the truth is football is my next addiction outside of movies.

"I am good friends with (Super Eagles) goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama. It is a friendship we developed during his time as Enyimba's goalkeeper.

"I love Enyimba dearly because I grew up in Aba and I always make out time to see the club's matches whenever I can.
.
"It is a great club but I pray we return back to winning because I have not been happy with the fact that we have not landed silverware recently," he stressed.

Iheme is a much-loved Nigerian actor, widely known for playing the role of 'Pawpaw' in the film Aki na Ukwa alongside Chinedu Ikedieze.

In 2007, Osita received the lifetime achievement award at the African Movie Academy Awards.
