Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has tipped his team Fenerbache and Chelsea to qualify for the final game of this year's Europa League competition following their first leg advantage going into tomorrow's second leg clashes.
.
Fenerbahçe's Egemen Korkmaz scored the only goal in the 72nd minute via the post to give Aykut Kocaman's side a lone goal advantage last Thursday, while Chelsea's David Luiz's added-time free-kick earned the Blues a valuable first-leg 2-1 lead after a Fabian Schär penalty looked set to salvage a draw for Swiss side Basel in the other semi-final.
.
The former Everton defender is upbeat about winning his second silverware in his club career with Turkish giants but admitted that Benfica who are unbeaten in 13 home games over three UEFA Europa League campaigns would pose a great threat though Fenerbahçe are also yet to lose in six away matches.
.
"They have a good home record," the AFCON winner began in a brief chat with Complete Sports. "It's going to be a herculean task against Benfica but I believe we have what it takes to advance to the final and even beat Chelsea in the final if we meet," he boasts.
.
Yobo who was in fine form for Fenerbahce in the first leg encounter at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium has so far played 12 Europa League games this season for the Yellow Cannaries.
Well as it is rite now it is looking like the way Joseph Yobo has said it. But i still believe anything can happen in the return leg.
Let's just hope his prediction will come to pass so we'll have our Nigerian brothers clashing against each other.
