The institute is in the process of changing its present status to Open Distance Learning (ODL). This makes it imperative for the appointments of full-time staff as part of the restructuring process. In pursuant of this, the Council approved that the following vacancies should be filled.

POST AND QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
1. Deputy Librarian (UASS 6) – Candidate must possess a good honours degree with a minimum of second class Lower Division, Masters Degree and Ph.D in Library Information Science or related fields from a recognized University with at least eight (8) years teaching and research experience in a University or comparable institution of higher learning. Candidate must have served as a Senior Librarian for three (3) years in the University or similar Institution. A strong proof or research with evidence of scholarly publications both in quantum and quality in reputable international and National Journals is required. The candidate must be conversant with current trends in information communication technology and e-learning. He/she must demonstrate good international experience for promoting international linkages with other libraries.
2. Senior Librarian (UASS 5) – A holder of this post must be a holder of good honours degree in Library Science, Master Degree and Ph.D in Library Science or related fields. He/she should have evidence of Seminar/Conference papers as well as published articles in reputable International and National Journals. Applicant must have five (5) years experience in an academic Library and must have been a Librarian I for at least three (3) years.
3. Librarian I (UASS 4) – A holder of this post must be a holder of good honours degree in Library Science, Master Degree and Ph.D in Library Science or related fields. He/she should have evidence of Seminar/Conference papers as well as published articles in reputable International and National Journals.
4. Librarian II (UASS 3) – A holder of this post must be a holder of good honours degree in Library Science, Master Degree and Ph.D in Library Science or related fields. A Doctorate Degree will be an advantage. The candidate must have had three (3) years cognate experience in an academic Library System as Assistant Librarian. He/she should have evidence of Seminar/Conference papers as well as published articles in reputable International and National Journals.
5. Assistant Librarian (UASS 2) – A good University degree with Master in Library Science or Library Studies. Candidate must have registered for Ph.D.
SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES:
• Associate Professor/Deputy Librarian (CONUASS 6) – (N468,201 – N671,412) per annum
• Senior Lecturer/Senior Librarian (CONUASS 5) – (N420,060 – N645,528) per annum
• Lecturer I/Librarian I (CONUASS 4) – (N338,323 – N442,731) per annum
• Lecturer II/Librarian II (CONUASS 3) – (N257,984 – N313,690) per annum
• Assistant Lecturer/Asst. Librarian (CONUASS 2) – (N220,093 – N270,759) per annum
