Former Nigeria head coach, Samson Siasia has described the late legend, Rashidi Yekini as a close colleague and a hero he would never forget in his life.
.
Siasia, while speaking at the book launch marking the one-year remembrance programme of the former African star held on Thursday at the Jogor Centre in Ibadan, revealed that Yekini was an idol that must be worshipped by all Nigerians stressing that he would ever be proud of the deceased.
.
"I can't still believe that Yekini is dead as I am still feeling the pains of his death as he was my best teammate when we were playing for the national team.
.
"He was someone that would never be angry with anything you do to him as he would continue to beg even when he was right.
.
"I hope he would forgive me for not attending his burial as I was not in the country when he died.
.
"I doubt if any player would ever meet the record he set while playing for the national team as he remains the best ever footballer Nigeria ever had. I miss him so much and I pray for his soul to rest in peace," Siasia explained in tears.
He is still the best Nigerian footballer ever!
