Brief Biography
Dr. Esther Ngozi Oluikpe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Arts Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka campus. Her research interest include early childhood communication, second language writing, English language teaching with special interest in phonics and phonetics, second language acquisition and learning, and Igbo language research. She teaches postgraduate courses in Theories of Language Development and Seminar in Language Education and supervises at the MEd and BEd levels in Language Education. She has co-authored a book on Second Language Development which focuses on process, theories, issues, and variables in second language development as well as English language textbooks at the primary levels. In addition, she has published widely in the area of second language writing, focusing on problems of Nigerian students in writing in English. She is a specialist in training of English language teachers, teacher enhancement strategies, and editor of
International Journal of Arts and Technology Education based at Department of Arts Education, University of Nigeria.Finally, she is a resource person for all the training and re-training of primary and secondary school teachers in the South-eastern geopolitical zone of Nigeria for the MDGs in English language teaching. Her area is Phonics and Phonetics of English.
