Mr Fatai Bakare; the Itori Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC); while confirming the incident attributed the cause of the accident to over-speeding and reckless driving. Bakare said that a Mitsubishi pick-up marked LSD 267 XC over-sped, lost control and rammed into a moving unmarked articulated vehicle from behind. He said three out of the eight persons involved died on the spot while five other persons sustained different degrees of injuries. The Unit Commander however warned against dangerous driving while on the highway.
