(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/coat-of-arms2.gif) Following the decision reached at the just concluded 19th National Council on Sports, which was held in Ilorin, Kwara State, a 12- man Committee to work out modalities for the forthcoming National Open Sports Festival and the National Youth Games (NYG) will be inaugurated by Nigeria Minister of Sports Bolaji Abdullahi, on Tuesday, 7th May, in Abuja.
The Committee is expected to be responsible for the organization and management of the games and also study and advise appropriately on issues that will ensure proper implementation of officiating and eligibility rules for such events.
The Youth Games is scheduled for 29th August – 7th September, 2013 in FCT, Abuja.
The Committee has a time frame of 14days to submit its report.
The Committee will comprise the following:
(i) A representative of the National Sports Commission, as Chairman
(ii) Six (6) States Directors of Sports, each representing a geo-political zone.
(iii) Rep. of NAPHER-SD
(iv) Sec. Gen. NOC
(v) Chairman Directors Forum
(vi) President NSSF
(vii) Director of Sports & PE (Nigeria Army)
