Title: Ogun State - Amosun re-affirms commitment to the welfare of security personnel

 Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has re-affirmed the commitment of his administration to the well-being of all security personnel in the State.

   Governor Amosun who gave this assurance today in his office while hosting the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos, Major-General Obi Abel Umahi reiterated that security of life and property remained paramount in his mission to rebuild the State.     Maintaining that necessary steps were being taken to provide adequate machineries for security personnel in the State to perform efficiently, Amosun pledged that “the state government will not shirk in its responsibility of doing the needful when occasion arises and would always provide the security operative with good working environment”.     Governor Amosun also commended officers and men of the Nigerian Army for their contributions towards ensuring security of lives and property, particularly now that the country is facing challenges.     “There had not been a time in history than this that the nation would resort to the Army to complement the efforts of police and other security agencies saddled with the task of protecting our internal integrity. The efforts of Nigerian Army had been rubbing off positively on national security’’ Amosun noted     On the Joint Military Police Patrol(OP MESA) floated by the State Government, Governor Amosun assured that the present challenges facing their operations would be addressed, adding that the plan to create mini base for patrol officers in their various duty posts would be expedited. He maintained that the on-going infrastructural and educational revolution of his administration would also be extended to military formations in the State.     Earlier in his remarks, Major-General Umahi had commended Governor Amosun for his efforts in giving the State a face-lift, pointing out that the joint military initiative of the State Government was a step in the right direction.     Major-General Umahi who also appreciated the huge investments of the Senator Amosun-led administration in education, assuring that the army will always partner the State Government in its stride to ensure peaceful co existence as well as security of lives and property of residents.     “We will always partner with you in your desire to achieve your laudable vision of seeing that residents of the Gateway State go to bed with their eyes closed’’ the army officer remarked.
