Former Super Eagles Coach,Christian Chukwu, MFR, has declared that the improved ranking of Nigeria in the latest release by FIFA will motivate the senior national team players during next month's World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Namibia.

"It's a good thing that we've began the upwards move in the FIFA monthly rankings.

It's due to the recent games the team played and I'm sure it will serve as a motivation for them going into next month's World Cup qualifiers as well as the Confederations Cup games", Chukwu, who is Technical Consultant to NPFL side, Heartland of Owerri said.

In the latest ranking for the month of May released by FIFA, the Super Eagles are rated 4th best in Africa and 28th in the World.

The former Nigeria Captain and Nations Cup winner in 1980 added that from now on Super Eagles ranking will continue to improve.

"There's no doubt that about that. With the several games coming up starting from the international friendly against Mexico and the World Cup qualifiers coming up next month there is no way the Super Eagles rankings will not get better".

The one time Harambee Stars of Kenya Coach and SAFA of Lebanon handler charged the Super Eagles to remain focused ahead of the all important World Cup qualifiers in June.

"If they work hard, remain focused, I don't see no reason why they wont triumph in Kenya and deliver the World cup ticket".
I don't think that would have anything to do in their qualification for the world cup. They must simply improve!
