(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Umaru-Tanko-Al-Makura-300x224.jpg) The Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-makura has expressed the State government's readiness to fight against whom he described as disgruntled individuals attempting to turn the State into a theatre of war. The Governor made this remark in response to the killing of over 97 police men in Alakyo village by the Ombatse militia.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Press Affairs, Sani Musa Mairiga, the Governor averred that Nasarawa State has already experienced ample bloodshed by individuals who are seeking to sabotage the State. He vowed that such people will not go unpunished.
"It was unfortunate that some people still perpetrate evil against their fellow humans at a time when the State has begun to count the gains of democracy. The crisis has no religious connotation as being speculated by some section of the media. Some people are just bent on destroying the State because they feel they are not in power", the statement said.
The Governor alleged that some politicians were behind the crisis rocking some parts of the State, adding "There is no hiding place for unpatriotic individuals in Nasarawa State".
