Mr Ndace who said this on Channels Television's breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, described the killing of 20 police officers by an occultic turned militia group, Ombatse, based in the northern state, as "unfortunate". Mr Ndace said the event was unfortunate and added that "it is left for security agents to understand the particular ground (they have been deployed to) and know how to approach it." The security agents ... when going on operation such as the one in Nasarawa must understand what is called the grounds and terrains." Ndace said that the security agents underrated their opponents because "it is also the duty of the security agents to have intelligent report on this group before they deploy their men" in the first place. "Going for a battle is not a wedding ceremony." He said. He said that from his findings, the Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Al-Makura had made attempts to find a lasting solution to the insurgency but after a year of dislodging the group, they reinforced and emerged with a new name, Ombatse, meaning 'it is out turn.' He said the meaning of the name has high implications consisting of political undertones. He also said that the Federal Government has to be very decisive in its decision making effort. "Government at all levels must be very decisive and take right decisions." He said. Ndace, who commented that there is an issue with how the federal government has managed security generally; suggested that the federal government do more to win the battle by empowering security agents and equipping them. He said that there should be a counter ideology to what the rebels believe in, in order to stall attempts to propagate their beliefs and attract more followership. He suggested that the FG tour the country as much as possible in order to engage the think tanks who will help with a better understanding of the country.
