The Governing Council of the Obafemi Awolowo University, IIe-Ife, has announced the appointment of Mr. David Oladotun AWOYEMI as the new Registrar and Secretary to Council of Obafemi Awolowo University.
Mr. Oladotun Awoyemi, who joined the services of the Obafemi Awolowo University IIe-Ife, then University of Ife as Administrative Officer II on 9th August 1982 rose through the ranks and became the Director, Academic Affairs in 2008.
Mr. Awoyemi a seasoned and consummate administrator has served in various Units of the University. He was in the Vice – Chancellor's office from 1986 to 1990, Centre for Energy Research and Development between 1996 and 1998; and later from 2005 to 2006. He worked at the College Secretary Office of the Postgraduate College and Centre for Distance Learning of the University from 2007 to 2008.
Mr. Awoyemi has attended, and also delivered papers and reports at several conferences, workshops and seminars both within and outside the country. He is also a Member of different Professional Associations including Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM), Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Association of University Administrator, United Kingdom (MAUA), International Association of Administration Professional (MIAAP) and also American Society of Administrative Professional (MASAP).
Born on the 23rdof January, 1959 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Mr. Dotun Awoyemi attended Osogbo Grammar School between 1970 and 1974 before proceeding to the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, where in 1979 he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy, with a 2nd Class Upper Division. He got his Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and an M.Sc in International Relations in 1981 and 1983 respectively both from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He also has a certificate in Electronic Data Processing with Distinction, also from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Mr. Awoyemi is married to Pharmacist F.O. Awoyemi, and is blessed with three children.
