Head coach of the Nigeria national team, Stephen Keshi has offered his congratulations to Chelsea duo, John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses following Chelsea's triumph in the Uefa Europa League.
.
The duo played no part in Wednesday night's 2-1 success against Benfica at the Amsterdam ArenA but contributed to Chelsea's run to glory.
.
Keshi has now taken the time to offer his congratulations to the lads on the back of their victory in Europe's second tier club competition.
.
"I want to congratulate Mikel and Victor for helping their club win the Europa League. It is an important competition with a lot of great teams and excellent players so they did very well to help their clubs win the Europa League," Keshi exclusively said.
.
The former Togo and Mali trainer then took the time to explain his choices after releasing a 25-man-list of players for the international friendly against Mexico on May 31 at the Reliant Stadium, Houston in the United States of America.
.
"As always, the players invited must give their all and fight to defend their country because even in friendly games, the honour of your nation is at stake.
.
"This match is important because it will enable us try certain things ahead of the (2014 Fifa World Cup qualifiers) against Namibia and Kenya as well as the Fifa Confederations Cup.
.
"We may be African champions but this team is still work in progress so we must continue to work hard till we build a very strong team Nigerians can be proud of," he said.
They deserve the praise. That is one thing I love Chelsea for. They never fail to win when it comes to crucial finals.
I also congratulate Mikel Obi and Victor Moses for the crucial win they got against Benfica yesternite. It was a deserved one.
Stephen Keshi has to really work on both of them cos I really believe they can be better Super Eagles players.
