Job Title: Polytechnic Librarian

Functions/Duties: The Polytechnic Librarian who is a Principal Officer is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day running of the Polytechnic Library and for forming overall library policies.
Qualification and Experience:
• Candidate for the post of the Polytechnic Librarian is expected to hold a good honours degree from a recognised institution of higher learning plus, at least, 17 years cognate experience or a holder of Masters Degree in Library Science from a recognised institution of learning plus, at least, 15 years cognate experience. In either case, the candidate must, in addition, possess professional library registration.
• Candidate applying for the post of Polytechnic Librarian must not be more than 55 years old at the time of assumption of duty and must presently hold a position not less than Chief Librarian. The Candidate should also have evidence of publications and research work and must be computer literate.
Salary and Other Benefits: The position of the Polytechnic Librarian is a tenure appointment. The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.
