The maiden edition of the Ministerial platform was held from April, 24th to May, 22nd, 2012 and it was part of the activities to mark the 2012 Democracy Day and the First Anniversary of President Goodluck Jonathan's Administration.  It featured all serving Ministers who presented their plans and score cards to the media and the Nigerian people at home and abroad.

The 2013 edition is considered to be scorecards of the Ministers to mark the mid-term anniversary of President Goodluck Jonathan (May, 2011 – May, 2013).
