Northern Elders criticized the State of Emergency declaration on three states in the North East of the Country.
They said that the president Goodluck Jonathan's action is an indirect declaration of war on Northern Nigeria.
This action or declaration of a state of Emergency did eventually ended the proposed amnesty for the members of Boko Haram sect.
"It is very sad for us to see that the President Goodluck Jonathan has easily changed direction from dialogue and reconciliation to war in his bid to end the cycle of violence in the North."
