ABOUT THIS JOB: – Reporting to the EHO or WHO Hemisphere Logistics Operations Director, the Regional Logistics Director will be responsible for logistics operations and operational trade compliance in all of the countries in their allocated Region. Baker Hughes has created five Regional Control Towers as follows; Aberdeen, Houston, Dubai, Singapore and Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, each country will appoint a Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager (LTCM) who will report into the respective Regional Logistics Director. The Regional Logistics Director will work with the EHO or WHO Logistics Director to establish a compliant, best in class, cost effective logistics supply chain for the Region. The Regional Logistics Director will establish best in class logistics and trade compliance management and will set the standard for management of logistics within the region. The Regional Logistics Director will be responsible for implementation of automated systems such as SAP 3.0, Trade Collaborator and TMS. The Region Logistics Director will also work closely with the Region Trade Director and Global Freight Sourcing team. – Travel to countries within the region and beyond is expected
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provide Strategic and tactical leadership and operations management at the Region level
• Support and optimize the Region Logistics Control Tower, centralizing logistics and operational trade compliance activities in the host country in order to establish the control tower model. All country level operations (LTCMs) will report into the Region Logistics Director.
• Provide management, mentoring and support for Country Logistics & Trade Compliance Managers.
• Manage and optimize BHI's Logistics Supply chain within the Region in accordance with corporate strategy and goals.
• Ensure all BHI Global Logistics & Trade Compliance requirements are met and related strategies employed throughout the Region.
• In conjunction with Global Logistics & Trade Compliance leadership act as Operations / Customer / Government liaison on logistical matters within the Region.
• Fiscal responsibility for the Region including budgetary creation and adherence.
• Participate as a team member in relation to Regional or Country Level Sourcing Initiatives as directed by the Global Freight Sourcing team.
• Implement new processes, automate systems and document / file retention systems.
• Create the infrastructure and organization suitable to the scope and size of the business complete with all related disciplines.
• Create optimized practical processes with associated performance measurement tools
• Drive operational excellence, identify and implement best in class supply chain technology and practices across the Region.
• Enable Team building – Personnel development, enhance Logistics – Trade Compliance knowledge
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) or +10 years of supply chain management or supervisory experience in progressively senior positions
• Previous experience of logistics operations in a fast paced industry.
• Good understanding of Trade and Regulatory Compliance, coupled with proven track record of practical execution.
• In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes & current best practices.
• Experience in planning, assessing and implementing change, preferably in a large organization.
• Solid business acumen accompanied by interpersonal savvy
• Ability to quickly establish credibility across organization/engage others to ensure the most effective efficient logistics solutions for the varied business units.
• Flexibility to seek & incorporate input from others into the plan/solid track record for effectively managing/developing a team
• Demonstrated experience in creating/upgrading the logistics & supply chain function
• Proven ability to adapt and manage effectively in faced paced changing environment
• Superior communication, presentation and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance & distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong business relationships, both internal and external.
• Excellent team oriented leadership skills.
• Ability to transform current business model to a highly efficient supply chain machine through the creations of end to end supply chain strategies.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally
