| My client is a well established contractor in West Africa, they have an immediate role for a quarry engineer, please see the full JD below. This is a management engineering support role, reporting directly to the company Production Manager. The role mainly interacts with the company's Plant Division personnel, Quarry Supervisors, Stores and mechanical staff. Reporting to this position is a small team of technicians and site maintenance staff. The role is primarily based in Abuja with travel around Nigeria as required. Some time away from the office is inevitable. Qualifications, skills and attributes * Resilient, committed and hardworking * Has a good understanding of operational pressures * Excellent English skills - verbal and written * Capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines and budgets * Degree or equivalent in Quarry, Mining, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or at least 15 years experience in a similar support role, preferably in Africa. * Proficiency with MS Office * Proficiency with AutoCad or similar * Ideally had exposure to Mine planning software such as SURPAC or similar * Experience with process design flow sheets and understanding of the use of software such as AggFlow, PlantDesigner or Bruno. Main duties are as follows: * Ensure best practice and performance from all staff and resources * In conjunction with Quarry Supervisors, ensure best maintenance and operational practice of all crushing and screening plants * Constant review of performance and capability of all crushing and screening equipment, and reporting as necessary in order to meet company timetable and demands * Liaison with QA department as necessary * Design and assistance with development plans and modifications, to include infrastructure and support facilities * Plant design, layout and site drawings; as required for existing and new site developments * Constant review of spare parts and pre-ordering to ensure minimum downtime including advice to Stores re. Minimum and maximum stock levels etc. * Site maintenance and plant operational cost reviews as required to ensure high levels of throughput and utilisation at minimum cost to the company * In conjunction with the Plant Department, arranging and planning of all quarry equipment movements * Site planning and management of major maintenance and installation tasks, as and when required * Field visits as necessary and required by management to ensure effective and continuous support to all sites * Research, recommendation and introduction of new techniques and practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs * Overview of training requirements of all staff under your control * Identification of training requirements and carrying-out training as necessary * Ensure all staff work safely and effectively with due consideration to others * Assistance in the recruitment of technical staff to ensure continued effective support * Reports as required by senior management * Attendance at meetings and courses as required Please contact me for further details. | My client is a well established multi national business who urgently require a Senior Construction Project Manager. Full job description below; Main Purpose Design, Construction and Supervision of various petroleum projects. Ensuring timely and satisfactory completion of plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities Design, Construction and Supervision of: * Petroleum depots. These depots should range from simple 2,000 cubic meter ones to large and complicated over 200,000 cubic meter ones. These terminals must be capable of handling all white products and spirits including crude oil, fuel oil and bitumen. * Offshore mooring systems like Single Point Mooring systems and Conventional Buoy Mooring systems for vessels up to 200,000 DWT * Jetties, ports and harbours for vessels up to 200,000 DWT * Loading and offloading facilities for road tankers and trains Design: Produce, agree and manage, with all relevant parties, a realistic design program and information required schedule to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements Project Financing: Be responsible for the communication between the lenders and their technical advisors and the project team. Be responsible and follow up the CAPEX and budget of the project. Supervision: - Coordinate project execution activities to ensure that projects are implemented within budget and schedule. - Ensure compliance of codes, standards, regulation and practices applicable to the design and construction (e.g API, ASME, ANSI, AGA, ISA, etc) Contract Management: Contract negotiation, contact administration and claims management. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Education: - Degree in Engineering with minimum 15 years varied construction experience.
