Post by: OgunState on May 20, 2013, 03:30 PM
The Ogun State Government says provision of affordable housing programme for the people requires the collaboration of all relevant stakeholders, to this end, it would continue to partner with genuine investors in the building industry so that its dream of providing houses that will be within the reach of its citizens can be realized. The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who stated this in Ibadan at the 50th anniversary celebration of Wemabod Estates Limited, a subsidiary of the Odua Group of Companies called on the firm to build more houses in the State.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa noted that WEMABOD was already a household name in the State, saying that it had what it takes to join the State Government in providing houses for residents of the State. “After Lagos, we are the next port of call. We have the land and the people. We have the human capital to support you more than any other State in the South West. I will like to see more of Odua presence and WEMABOD in Ogun State”, the Governor charged.

While commending the management of the company for sustaining the legacies of its forebears, Senator Amosun tasked it to look inward and come up with projects that would also stand the test of time. He said, “Most of the things we have at Odua today were inherited from our forefathers. I want Odua and Wemabod to take on new projects that we can also leave for our children, so that beyond saying this is our patrimony, this is our heritage, they should take on new and bigger projects that we can bequeath to younger generations”.

Speaking earlier, Chairman of Wemabod Estates Limited, Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi thanked the Governors of the Odua States for their support towards the progress of the Company and the Ogun State Government, particularly for providing land for its scheme at Ibafo.
