The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has said that its personnel would partner other security agencies in the trouble states and other parts of the country to ensure lasting peace.
The NSCDC Commandant General, Ade Abodurin, gave this indication at the weekend in Abuja while addressing Corps Commandants from the 36 states of the federation, on the security situation in the country.
Abodurin said that the country was in a critical moment and that all the security agencies need to cooperate to curb the menace, adding that the Corps will contribute its quota where necessary.
"This is the time when we need to come together as a people and not only the security agencies.
"The cooperation of everyone in the country is needed to put an end to the situation.
"While the security agencies are expected to cooperate with each other, other citizens are expected to provide the security agencies with meaningful information that will arrest the situation."
He noted that the militant groups in the country have posed a serious threat to the government and the citizens, thereby making life unbearable for the common man.
"The economy of this country has been crippled by the activities of the various militant groups operating across the country.
