Attacking midfielders Victor Moses and Kalu Uche have been ruled out of the high-profile friendly with Mexico, the World Cup qualifying matches against Kenya and Namibia and the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament.
In a message to Coach Stephen Keshi yesterday, Turkey-based Uche claimed to have played with injury for weeks and was advised by his team doctor to use the off-season to fix the injury.
Moses, who is one of the best players of the Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa, also excused himself from the squad to treat a recurring injury, although the Chelsea management said he would be in the team's pre-season tour of the United States but would be monitored as he sits on the sidelines during the tour.
Meanwhile, Keshi has expressed displeasure at both players, saying they had not informed him of the development. "We have the players to deliver the World Cup for Nigerian," the coach assured.
