Former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, has insisted that the present security challenges facing the nation was deliberately created to cripple its development and undermine its security. Buhari who stated this, yesterday while on a sympathy visit on the Emir of Daura in his palace, noted that no nation would develop under the present circumstances of insecurity, destruction of lives and property.
According to him, "no religion will condone an act of terrorism and no nation will have peace and meaningful progress under the present situation. We have to join hands to reverse the ugly trend."
The three times presidential candidate of both the ANPP and CPC, lamented that the economy of people living within the Kano and Maiduguri axis has been completely cripple, describing the Daura attack and similar attacks in all parts of Nigeria as unfortunate and criminal.
"I therefore wish to join all well wishers and peace lovers to sympathize with the people of Daura over the incident.
"There is no religion that promotes the act of terrorism. We should therefore voice our condemnation against it' he stressed.
Responding, the Emir, Alhaji Faruq Umar Faruq, described the incident as an act of God.
