Title: KNSG draft sector plan for development.

(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/coat-of-arms2.gif)                        The Kano state Government has commenced the drafting of a medium term sector strategy document that would guide the State for the next 10 years in development programmes.

Permanent secretary, Kano State Ministry for Planning and Budget, Mr. Ashiru Dan Azumi Zage stated this while speaking to our correspondent shortly after closing a 3-day workshop for stake holders on planning and development held in Makera Motel, Katsina.

Mr. Ashiru said the document would contain sector plans such as in Agriculture, Commerce, Health, Environment, Industries and Education that the Kano State Government would follow for the overall development and growth of the people of the State.

We are trying to look at a planned development strategy for instance the priorities in Agriculture, the resources available to the agric sector and how best these can be harnessed to improve agriculture for food sufficiency and wealth generation.

We are also expected to come up with financial implication for the entire rolling plan.  Of course, you can see it an all encompassing document, he said.

The Permanent secretary pointed out that the Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwanso is determined to achieve attitudinal change among the people where every citizen would have a role and contribution to make towards the advancement of Kano state and its people.

He remarked that the midterm sectoral strategy workshop was held in Katsina because of the peaceful nature of the state and the Hospitality of the people.
