Our client is the world leader in integrated power plants for the production of electricity and air quality control systems and is currently running a projectlocated in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Job Overview: – The Project manager bears responsibility for all project related issues for project from preparation phase – (identification and mobilization of resources)to project execution phase including follow up of schedule, contract, control of delivered services, reporting, communication, customer interface and people management. – Reporting to operations manager, the Project will be based in Afam Oyigbo LGA near Port Harcourt, rivers State but will travel to other sites if required.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and understand project objectives and particapte in project planning
• Identify, mobilize and manage human and material resources required to achieve project objectives. This includes assessment and preparation of needs for future project execution
• Manage and control services provided by sub contractors
• Ensure compliance of preject execution with contract specifications and agreed scope of work
• Ensure project delivery within agreed budget and time targets
• Manage A,B,C inspections from preparation phase to service delivery (including action plan, resources identification, technical assessment, preparation of support services onsite, execution of inspections)
• Project Risk Management – including risk identification, mitigation and avoidance planning and implementation
• Project meetings, customer communication and management /project reporting
• Customer relationship management
• Weekly project reporting
• Provide input for project reviews
• Identify new project opportunities
• Ensure company technical, EHS and Security standards compliance on all projects handled
Qualifications and Experience:
• Mechanical Engineering degree
• Minimum of 5 yearsproject management experience
• Experience in oil & gas or powerplant project management will be an advantage
• Sound knowledge of project management issues in complex environments
• Strong sense of initiative, an innovative mindset and and resilience
• Should be able to work under pressure in a complex environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible – should be willing and able to work outsid schedule in response to emergencies
• Results oriented
• Able to travel frequently
