A Police corporal attached to Ankpa Divisional headquarters, Ankpa local government, Kogi state, Mr. Innocent Ademu, has been detained for alleged culpable homicide. Innocent in company of a colleague reportedly went to Lagos Ochi, a surbub of Ankpa, headquarters of Ankpa local government, to arrest suspected criminals when his gun triggered and killed one Joseph Itodo.
Eyewitness accounts said that one Ogbodo Abu had gone to the police station to make a report of mob attack on him by some suspected criminals in the village.
Following the report, it was gathered that Innocent and one other person were detailed by the police authority in Ankpa to effect the arrest of the suspected criminals.
Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Nwaneri, said he was still awaiting details of the report.
