Title: Ogun State - Ogun to hold commemorative children’s day arts exhibition Tuesday

 In order to encourage and promote creative and cultural education in primary and secondary schools in Ogun State, the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism will on Tuesday, 28th May 2013 hold a Children’s Art Exhibition as part of activities marking this years children’s day celebration. Venue is the multi purpose hail of Olumo Rock Tourist complex.

Tagged “The Creative Child, an Asset to the Nation” the exhibition will feature drawing, painting, modeling, craft, and design produced by children from age one to twelve in nursery, primary and Junior Secondary Schools in the State.

In a statement, the Commissioner, Mrs. Yewande Amusan noted the exhibition, under the chairmanship of the Head of Department, Fine and Applied Arts, Federal College of Education Abeokuta, Dr.Geofrey Arueyingho will also aid the appraisal of the level of artistic development and creativity in schools as well as educate the public on the educational relevance of creative arts.

The statement added that already some schools including the Federal College of Education Staff School, Osiele Abeokuta, Egba Odeda Junior High School, Alaba Lawson Royal College, St Anne’s Nursery and Primary School, Saje (Junior) High School and Lantoro High School (Junior) Abeokuta have indicated interest in participating.
