Title: IPC Urges NNPC, IGP To Probe Oil Firm

The Ijaw Peoples Congress,IPC, yesterday, called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC; the Inspector-General of Police; Director-General, Department of State Service, DSS, and Minister of Petroleum Resources to call Integrated Data Servicing Nigeria Limited, IDSL, to order, over its alleged manipulation of some communities in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

IPC National President, Mr. Ekanpou Enewaridideke in a statement, alleged that the oil servicing company, which is a subsidiary of NNPC, had without usual permit, desecrated the forests of Akparemogbene, Amasuo, Opuapale, Ayakoromo and Oyangbene communities in Burutu council in January 2013 under the pretext of data collection.

It said: "To forestall any violent eruption in these communities, we, hereby call on the management of NNPC to ignore and discredit any geological data dished out by IDSL in respect of its operations in these communities because IDSL lacks the required competence to work in the areas.
