Job Title: Fixed Network Planning Engineer

Job Description:
•Define the optimal network topology for the fixed network platforms for the connectivity of network elements to meet the required deployment of services
•Execute prompt provisioning of network capacity for all fixed network elements, features, and protocols.
•Design and dimensioning of fixed network services to meet the requirements of subscriber growth forecast.
•Plan and design the network architecture to optimally serve the growth of the Fixed Network in terms of traffic and subscribers capacity
•Conduct analysis of network model outputs and traffic patterns to evaluate model and proffer solution if necessary
•Align the deployment of fixed network platforms (EWSD, RDLU, etc) with marketing projections to effectively capture the fixed line market and position MTN at an advantaged position
•Deploy data platforms for the fixed network (ADSL, DSLAM, etc) to seamlessly deploy data/internet services to the end user
•Monitor the utilization of all fixed network platforms, hardware, software, interfaces, etc and make informed decisions geared towards optimal utilization of the respective nodes.

Reporting To: Fixed Network Planning Manager
Required Skills:
•4 years experience in Fixed Network industry
•Experience with Fixed networks Operations and Fixed line Exchange statistics handling
•Technical Experience in Planning of Fixed Network Elements
•Vast knowledge of Signaling System, DSS1, C7, ISUP, TDMA
•Experience with general cabling principles and last mile customer solutions management
Qualification: A bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering
