Fan events in Germany to watch telecasts of Saturday's Champions League final may have been targeted by terrorist organisations, according to warnings by Germany's Federal Criminal Police (BKA), Spiegel Online reported.

According to the Spiegel report, the BKA has received indications that Islamists were pondering attacking public viewing areas before the broadcasting from London of the all-German Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

BKA head Joerg Ziercke had informed federal and state interior ministries about the plans in a confidential meeting Friday, Spiegel online reported.
