Job Description: Layer3 is seeking a top notch Legal Assistant to join our team in Abuja!
What we will expect you to do: You will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of the organization in relation to financial and legal practices, as well as issues of corporate governance. You will also act as a point of communication between the board of directors and company shareholders, reporting in a timely and accurate manner on company procedures and developments.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the systems that ensure the company complies with all applicable codes, as well as its legal and statutory requirements
• Advise management during the drawing up and negotiating of agreements.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, and take appropriate action
• Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues like commercial contracts, dispute resolution, government funding agreements, regulatory, employment, and governance.
• Organize, prepare agendas for, and taking minutes of board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs)
• Maintain statutory books, including registers of members, directors and secretaries
• Act as a confidential secretary to the directors and board
• Report violations of rules and laws to management and human resources including potential violations i.e. those which may take place in the future.
Desired Skills & Experience:

• Education to degree level preferred, with extensive experience in legal advisory, arbitration and contract law.
• Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to grasp complex areas of law rapidly and accurately.
• Exhibit sound practical judgment.
• Ability to work as a member of multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to mediate and settle disputes
• Ability to equilibrate priorities and organize work effectively to meet deadlines.
