Paris Saint-Germain attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi believes Wayne Rooney would be a great signing if he swaps Manchester for the French capital.
.
Lavezzi, who joined PSG from Napoli before the start of the 2012-2013 season, made 27 appearances and scored three goals as the club stormed its way to the Ligue 1 title.
.
The Parisian giant has splashed the cash recently, with the expensive signings of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Javier Pastore and Lavezzi helping it claim its first league success in 19 years.
.
And the signs indicate it will spend heavily again in this off-season, with Rooney - who has submitted a transfer request at Manchester United - rumoured to be its number one target.
.
He would cost more than £20 million to buy but as PSG has shown recently, money is no roadblock, and Lavezzi endorsed the potential signing of the England forward when asked.
.
"(Rooney) is a very good player and, if he comes to Paris, it will do much good to the team," Lavezzi told Le Parisien.
.
Another player who could be making his way to PSG is Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria.
.
And Lavezzi - who plays with Di Maria in the Argentina national team - said he had spoken to the 25-year-old about a potential move to PSG.
.
He also added that if coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, left PSG, although he would be disappointed, he would move on quickly.
.
"Yes, I spoke with Di Maria because he is a friend," he said.
.
"But these are things that remain between us and I do not want to expose.
.
"I am not indifferent to (Ancelotti's potential) departure because it has a very humane and professional management group and, when you feel good with a coach, you do not want him to go but football is like that.
.
"This is something that the club has to manage; we, as players, are out of it."
I would rather he went to Monaco. I believe his services are highly needed over there than any other club.
