Elder statesman, Alhaji Sule katagum, has urged parents to give their children moral education as children need to learn how to live harmoniously in society.
Sule Katagum who is also the Wazirin Katagum made the call at the launch of the appeal fund for the construction of Bilal Academy Tahfuzul Qur'an and Services held last weekend at Azare, headquarters of Katagum Local government area of Bauchi.
According to him, "the mission of schools has been to develop in the youth, both intellectual and moral virtues. Concern for moral virtues, such as honesty, responsibility, and respect for others, is the domain of moral education. Schools help children acquire these virtues or moral habits that will help them individually live good lives and at the same time become productive, contributing members of their communities"
Alhaji Katagum thanked the donors for their contributions towards the propagation of both Islamic and Western education in the area, and promised to continue supporting the academy.
A total sum of N3, 989, 670 was realized at the appeal launch for the construction of the School
Actual amount realized was N2, 399, 670 while pledges stood at N1, 590, 000 which included a cheque of N100, 000 at the occasion chaired by the Wazirin Katagum, Alhaji Sule Katagum.
The Chief launcher at the occasion, the Shatiman Katagum, Alhaji Abba Halliru launched the appeal fund with the sum of N500, 000, the same amount equally donated by the Senator representing Bauchi North senatorial district, Senator Babayo Garba Gamawa.

So many parents lack in this aspect. This is a very important call to duty. I just hope parents are seeing this.....
