Ogun State Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle has attributed the existing industrial peace in the State to the harmonious relationship between the State Government and labour leaders.
Mrs. Adekunle stated this while presenting the scorecard of her office in the last two years of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration, assuring that government would remain committed to the sustenance of the existing industrial peace.
“The present air of cordial peaceful industrial harmony in Ogun state does not mean there were no conflicts during the period, the truth is that areas of conflicts were promptly resolved through existing robust dispute settlement machinery coupled with the open door policy of my office which has immensely contributed to the feat recorded” Mrs. Adekunle stated.
On manpower development, the Head of Service noted that the State Government placed a great emphasis on capacity building for improved performance and efficiency, adding that 2,204 civil servants had been exposed to different capacity building programmes in the last two years, just as promotion of workers were embarked upon as at when due to reward exemplary performance and boost morale.
Mrs Adekunle added that as a follow up to the over 10,000 unemployed youths that were engaged in the first year, the State Civil Service Commission, Hospitals Management Board and the Ministry of Agriculture had recruited another 967 category of workers to beef up staff strength for improved service delivery following the approval of Governor Amosun.
