Trainings and cross-agency trainings of men and officers in paramilitary organisations have been identified as veritable tools of establishing synergy among such organisations as well as their personnel which will invariably enhance service delivery.
The Corps Commander of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun State, Commander Ayo Sangofadeji made this remark in his office while hosting the new State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Elesin Adekunle during a courtesy visit.
Sangofadeji explained that inter agency trainings would among other things enhance understanding among men and officers of the agencies, reduce possibilities of usurpation of functions as well as avoid working at cross purposes., adding that thereby making relationship easier. “Cross agency trainings will avoid cross purpose among officers and men when duty demands inter agency operations” Sangofadeji noted.
The TRACE boss affirmed that providing security coverage for lives and property of Nigerians required collaborative efforts of all military and para-military agencies and assured his guest of the readiness of his corps to assist and cooperate with the NSCDC in the State at all times to ensure safety.
“Our agencies are members of the paramilitary family who need to work together at all times towards delivering our respective duties. Let me assure you of the readiness of TRACE to always cooperate with the men and officers of NSCDC in the State towards ensuring peace and security of lives and property” he pledged.
Earlier in his remark, the new NSCDC Commandant, Adekunle Elesin had underscored the importance and need for a synergy between paramilitary agencies to enable them perform better for the benefit of the society. He explained that the NSCDC College located in Oke-Mosan remained open for interested sister agencies to train their personnel as it offers varied courses bordering on security and crime combating.
