A Kaduna State-based non-governmental organisation, the Centre for Development and Rights Advocacy, has expressed disappointment with the performances of lawmakers from Southern Kaduna.
The group said the lawmakers had failed to address issues that affected the majority of the people of the area.
The CEDRA's spokesman, Dr. John Danfulan stated this at a briefing on Monday in Kaduna, noting that the lawmakers were only preoccupied with how to return to their positions in 2015.
The lawmakers, he added, were not interested in the killings in the zone, but in "buying and giving exotic cars to monarchs, who would influence their re-election bid in 2015".
He said, "We are here to explain our position on Southern Kaduna representatives in the National Assembly and the state House of Assembly ahead of 2013 Democracy Day and as well Midterm Assessment of democratically elected representatives of Southern Kaduna extraction.
"It is important to note that critical challenges bedeviling Southern Kaduna fall within the precinct of exclusive and concurrent lists, which require their being responsive by pressurising the executive arm of government to act. Unfortunately, there is nothing forthcoming while Southern Kaduna burns. Their primary concern is the re-election in 2015 rather than the survival and security of Southern Kaduna."
