Kia Joorabchian says it is wrong to blame him for QPR's transfer record last season as he only represented one of the players they signed.
.
Joorabchian advises new Stoke boss Mark Hughes, who was sacked by QPR in November after 10 months in charge.
.
"I'm always interested to read or hear that I was responsible for so many of the players signed by QPR last season," Joorabchian told BBC Sport.
.
"In fact my company was only involved with the signing of one, (keeper) Julio Cesar."
.
QPR signed 16 players during Hughes' time in charge, and six more under his successor Harry Redknapp in the January transfer window.
.
The Hoops lost their first 12 games of the season - under Hughes' charge - and were relegated after finishing bottom of the Premier League table.
.
Although Joorabchian advises Hughes, who was named new Stoke boss on Thursday, he insists he does not drive the manager's transfer policy.
.
Meanwhile, the BBC's chief sports correspondent, Dan Roan, says a senior source at Stoke has told him Joorabchian played no part in negotiations for Hughes to become their manager.
