The Rector is the Chief Academic and Executive Officer of the institution. The Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Said is a newly established technological institution in the country, offering an array of National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Full Professional and Post-Graduate Diploma courses in a variety of fields, namely:
• Commerce and Communication Sciences
• Engineering
• Environmental Studies
• Science and Technology
• Financial Management Studies
The Oke Ogun Polytechnic is a newly established institution that will take-off soon.
Duties: As the Chief Academic and Executive Officer of The Oke- Ogun Polytechnic, it will be the duty of the Rector to provide the requisite leadership in academic affairs and for securing the support of the public sector, industry, higher educational institutions and professional bodies for the work of the institution and its products.
Qualification:
Below are the attributes/factors an applicant for the post of Rector of the institution must satisfy:
• The person to be appointed as Rector must have a good education. His academic standing and reputation must be very high and must have a good track record of accomplishment in the academic/professional field and/or in public service generally.
• He must have held a senior teaching and/or research post in an institution of higher learning and must not be below the rank of Senior Principal Lecturer in a Polytechnic.
• His area of academic expertise must be related to at least one of the disciplines in the Polytechnic.
• He must understand the national and academic purpose of the Polytechnic and should have a wide administrative experience and be capable of giving dynamic and unquestionable leadership to the Polytechnic.
• He must be a man who is likely to command the respect and loyalty of majority of members of staff and students of the Polytechnic.
• He must be someone of courage, who is firm and can take decisions on the merit of facts and principles and not on the basis of pressures from groups or individuals.
• He must be someone who is not likely to foster personal, social, ethnic, political, religious or other sectional interests.
• His stature must be such as would command both national and international respect, particularly in the academic/technological world, and which would enhance a good reputation of the Polytechnic.
• He must have a pleasant personality and enjoy good health.
• Preferably be not less than forty years in age.
• He must be of a sound mind and good moral, and of unquestionable integrity and character.
• He must have been Dean of a Faculty or Director of a Campus.
Conditions of Service:
• The Rector shall hold office for a term of four (4) years in the first instance, renewable for another term of three (3) years only.
• Salary is the consolidated salary of the Rector.
