The event which took place at the Port Harcourt Club, Rivers State,  featured  prayers for God's  blessings  on the new Executives  of the party in Rivers State.

Addressing party faithful, Nyesom Wike, Minister of State for Education thanked all groups for supporting the new Executive, adding that their disagreement is not permanent.  He said that temporary disagreements are instruments of growth in our evolving society because without conflict there will be no progress.

Wike said, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers State has finally returned to the owners of the Party and appealed to the Chairman of the Party, Chief Felix Obuah to always tolerate challenges and make sure that all the aggrieved   members return to the Party soon.

Wike also maintained that the leader of the Party in the State is the Governor while the Chairman controls the Party by making sure that it is intact.  He emphasized   that the Party is always supreme and should be respected accordingly because it supersedes other activities.  He therefore, urged all Party faithfuls to remain calm and support the Party hierarchy at all times.

Earlier, Chief Felix Obuah had told Rivers people that the PDP is one and has no factions.  He maintains that only individuals who do not accept change are seeing imaginary factions.  Chief Obuah warned rumor peddlers to stop deceiving people  that plans are underway to impeach Governor Ameachi as such story will only  aggravate tension in the State.

He lauded Nyesom Wike, President Jonathan and the National Chairman of the Party for making a success of the PDP.

Concluding on an optimistic note, Obuah vowed that his target is to ensure that all old members returned to the peaceful umbrella of the PDP to help it consolidate before the 2015 general elections, adding that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan must be voted to power a second time.
