A renowned Playwright and Poet, Capt. Elechi Amadi made the remark at the inaugural talk Show of Pride of Africa in Port Harcourt.
Capt. Amadi said that for the Federal Government's transformational agenda and vision 20:2020 to be achieved, there is a need for confidence in ourselves and a re-establishment of the value of honesty.
The Elder Statesman urged Nigerians to be disciplined in whatever area of endeavour they find themselves. He advised all public office holders to shun inordinate scramble for wealth and the looting of public treasury.
While speaking at the talk show, a Management Research and Motivational speaker, Godwin Gbarale, noted that Nigeria has a lot of intellectual materials and appealed to Government to create an enabling environment where these materials would be put to use for the overall development of the nation.
According to Mr. Gbarale, we must get our politics and core values right if Nigeria must attain her place globally. He condemned the labeling of Africa's culture as primitive and demonic.
In his remark, the initiator of the Pride of Africa and Moderator at the talk show, Mrs. Esther Vikthur, thanked Hon. Victoria Wobo of the Rivers State House of Assembly, for sponsoring the event and charged Nigerians to have confidence in themselves by working honestly wherever they find themselves.
