The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has said that there was no crisis or crack in its Enugu State chapter.
The national ex-officio member of the party representing South-East geopolitical zone, Comrade Adolphous Udeh, who disclosed this at a press briefing yesterday, said the recent suspension of former gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, Mr. Valentine Nnaedozie, and 21 others was part of measure to instil discipline in the party's members.
Udeh said as a serious opposition party determined to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ACN could not fold its arms and watch mischief-makers misled her members.
He explained that the decision to wield the big stick on the 22 members was in ACN's interest because they constituted an obstacle to the party's progress in Enugu State.
Udeh also affirmed claims by the Mr. Barth Ugwuoke-led state leadership of ACN that prior to the sanction, the suspended members were being used as instruments of mischief and destabilisation in the party by the PDP.
The ACN chieftain, however, dismissed rumours that the party was currently experiencing some crack in its Enugu State chapter, as a fall out of the last congress which produced the incumbent State Working Committee, SWC.
He said: "I want to make it categorically clear that there is nothing like crack or division in the Enugu State chapter of ACN.
