Job Title: Farm Manager

A newly established captive cassava plantation with fully mechanised farming operations located in Kogi State seeks to employ for the position of a Farm Manager. The farm is supported by global commercial farm operator and a leading local research institute.
Job Specification
• Oversee day-to-day operations of a farm;
• Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading;
• Coordinates growing activities with those of engineering, equipment maintenance, and other related departments;
• Inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning;
• Maintain the farm's infrastructure;
• Manage all the direct and indirect labour utilised on the farm;
• Planning finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters;
• Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment;
• Applying health and safety standards across the farm;
Qualification
• First Degree in Agriculture with 10 years experience in cassava production or 5years experience with a Second degree;
• Possession of MBA in Agri-business is an added advantage;
• Knowledge of IITA cassava varieties and production techniques;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Ability to control clusters of small scale farmers;
• Ability to maintain farm records;
• Experience with cassava out-growers;
• Experience with farm equipments and implements;
• Knowledge of modern trends in cassava value chain;
• Candidate should be dedicated, honest and trustworthy.
