Title: Cross River State - Imoke Inspects First Independent TV Station in CRS
Post by: CrossRiverState on Jun 03, 2013, 04:31 PM
Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River says government decided to give out Studio Tinapa to a private sector to manage because it lacks the capacity to do so.

Speaking in an interview after an inspection of facilities and offices of Ebonylife Television at Tinapa Business and Leisure Report, Imoke  described the studio as an entertainment part of the resort which government, instead of allowing it to lay waste decided to give  it out a competent management with the know how to manage.

Imoke disclosed that the management of Ebonylife TV headed by Ms. Mo Amodu has the drive, and vision to turn the first independent television station in the state to a world class one with standard facility, most modern equipment and human capacity.

He noted that the station will be of great opportunity to the state when it becomes operational as from June 1, adding that the concept of his predecessor in setting up the studio in the resort is being actualized.

The governor remarked that it is a pride to the state, that the television has its staff from all over the world and further described it as ''a world wind mill".

The governor, however, described Amodu as a great leader, whose advice he finds to be helpful and visionary and therefore urged the staff of the television outfit to take the opportunity of working with her to turn the station into the best in Africa.

Imoke said government's decision of handing over the station to an independent hand was a welcome idea which falls in line with its acceptance of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and therefore saw it as appropriate and proper.

Earlier, the governor, who was accompanied with his wife, Mrs. Obioma Liyel Imoke, was shown round the administrative, technical, operations and the studio department of the station.
